this is the closest you could possibly get to actually performing magic. This event is all about searching for the ultimate hands on team with great design minds who can churn out anything from heaps of scrap. If you think you have it in you, put on your helmets, fasten your harness, tighten your lace, and let the battle of TRASH begin.

Problem Statement

In this event participants will have to design a working mechanism to accomplish the given task using the given junk & other standard parts.

Online Elimination

This round involves a technical aptitude test in which your basic fundamental knowledge (both theoretical and practical) will be tested.
It will be conducted before the event.
The date and time of the elimination test will be uploaded soon.

Round-1

The participants who clear the online elimination will be given a task.
They will have to design a working mechanism to accomplish the task & send their design by mail in autocad/pdf/jpg format(free-Hand sketches will be allowed with proper dimensions.)
The participants whose design is selected by the judges will proceed to the next round.

Details

The design will be judged on basis of feasibility & ease with which the task can be accomplished.
The design submitted should not be a rough sketch.

Round-2

There will be a factory visit based on which a test will be conducted.

Round-3

The participants have to design a working mechanism using given scrap to accomplish the given task.

Each team can have a compulsory of 4 participants.
Students from different institutes can form a team.
Use of any parts or instruments other than the given materials is PROHIBITED.
No extra time will be given to any team under any circumstances.
The event will span over 3 days of the event.
Participants of Junkyard are required to manage the time according to the schedule which will be uploaded few days before the event, if in case they are participating in other events. The participant of any team cannot enter the arena of the other teams.
If there is any damage to the tools provided or instruments, then the team to which the instrument was given would be liable to pay for the damage.
Junkyard team is not responsible for any loss of property, injury and delays during the event. The external conditions will be normalized to the maximum favorable limit.
Workshop facilities will be provided to the participants.
Participants need to have a basic idea about workshop safety and operational precautions.
The safety of the participant solely depends on the participant himself.
There will be no restriction on the type of mechanism used by the team to perform the task provided no other rule is violated.
The team violating the above rules will be disqualified.
Judges decision shall be treated as final and binding on all.
The Core committee members reserve the right to change any of the above mentioned rules.
Participants are required to stay up to date with the website.
