“Science never solves a problem without creating ten more”
FootPrints presents Hydra-i-zer, an event for all you neophyte engineers to prove your spunk. Even the most complicated and difficult mechanisms are derived from the simplest of laws. Following the maxim, Hydra-i-zer is an event putting you to play with the syringes, surrounding intrinsic concepts of Pascal’s law and basic principles of hydraulics.
Each team will be given two trials to perform the task.
Maximum three participants are allowed to control the machine.
Machine should be capable to move through a small distance to achieve the round objective.
Controller syringes/piston cylinder arrangement for controlling should not be fixed on the base of machine. They are required to hold in their hands.
Any link should not disintegrate during trial, if so then the team will be provided some time to fix it else disqualified.
Loading and unloading has to be done using the gripper arm fixed on the locomotive machine. For this participants have to build a mechanism (hydraulic) for holding the block and accomplishing the task.
The gripper arm has to be preinstalled on the machine itself.
Final decision lies with the Core committee of FootPrints X6.
The machine should fit in a box of 80*80.
The number & type of piston cylinder arrangement has no limitations.
Water as well as any other fluid can be used.
Brakes can be used for providing movement or stability.
The machine should be capable of moving on any terrain ,slopes & surfaces.
No electrical interference will be allowed.
Dimensions: 5cm*5cm*5cm
Weight: not more than 200gms
The teams will be judged on basis of their accuracy, correctness of program as well as speed.
The participants, in any case, reserve no right to challenge the decision of the core committee.
